CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Awareness Month challenges Canadians to undergo lifesaving CPR training.
The Canadian Red Cross and other organizations hold CPR and first aid lessons throughout the month. Skills taught include assessing if a person is in cardiac arrest, understanding when defibrillation is needed and how to use an AED (automated external defibrillators).
